Max McKenzie (they/them)
I am a queer, neurodivergent therapist, and I bring a unique background of animal biology and neuroscience to my work. I am drawn to the deep work of psychotherapy, that goes beyond just listening and coping skills, into the root of issues to resolve them.
With my background in both biology and psychology, I can help you develop a deeper understanding of why you’re feeling the way you do. I strive to create a collaborative space where you can be your whole self without judgment. I understand how it feels to be stuck, to lack purpose, and to be overwhelmed by big emotions without knowing how to cope with them. Together, we can begin to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and actions so you can move forward towards your best life.
Outside of my therapeutic work, I am also a board member of my local Pride organization, as well as a community organizer, educator and MC.

Lisa James (she/her)
I come to this work after spending 30+ years as a practising lawyer. I have been married for over twenty-five years, am a mom, step-mom, and lifelong student of people, so I bring a combination of keen study and life experience to my therapeutic work.
I work with adults and couples who are looking for solutions and support. I believe that every individual has immense potential to grow, change and navigate life’s challenges. I view mental and physical health as being inextricably linked, and my studies in neuroscience deeply influence my understanding of people. I have trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques and am specifically trained in dealing with ADHD. In my couples’ work, I use Gottman Method and Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) approaches.
Outside the office, I mountain bike, practise yoga and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Most of all, I love connecting with people! I would be delighted to have a conversation with you!
